Update on Italian Development of a Potential SAF Project

Over the past year (2020) the SAF team has been doing preliminary work with a potential team in Northern Italy. The SAF team has met with them online to continue to develop our relationship with them. Our Director of Mentorship has been working with the group taking them through the Formation of Servants program for the past year. The group has completed 10 of the 12 Steps and have started a group with potential team members and volunteers. This is the first step of their development.

Praise

• The group in Italy has faithfully worked through the Formation of Servants (FOS) with three of their key leaders.
• The group has gathered supporters in other parts of Italy and the US (missionaries) who are also working through the FOS.
• The group has started a local FOS Group with Italians who are interested in being part of the program in their city. With COVID-19 they are doing this via ZOOM. The FOS Group is currently working on Step 4.
• The key leaders of the Italians have been working to get all of the charitable status details in order and working on being able to receive donations.

Prayer Requests

• Pray for the leaders as they recruit other Italians for important roles within the local organization. They have recruited several but continue to gather them
• Pray for them as they take these individuals through the Formation of Servants.
• Pray for one of the Key Leaders whose mother in the US has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and is going through treatments. This leader and her family are going back to the US to care for their family.
• Pray for the rest of the leaders as they carry on the work while this family is away.
• Pray for the SAF team as we work on the details of the assessment and training for this group.
